how to create separate repository for each module

I have developed a web application with spring MVC and hibernate(5.3.6.Final) in my project.
Currently, all the DAO classes have been placed in a single package called ‘com.xxx.dao’ in which one can’t understand the design of the same.
So, I want to place the DAOs in separate packages, such as

com.xxx.dao.entity1,
com.xxx.dao.entity2 and
com.xxx.dao.entity3.

I have read a lot and also found couple of solutions, such as
